Climate
Ukraine has a temperate continental climate with cold, snowy winters and warm summers. Summer is generally the best time to discover the country from June to September), although it can occasionally be uncomfortably hot outside. The country enjoys a sufficient amount of sunshine and year-round rainfall, highly concentrated during the summer months (May to August).
January is the coldest month with daytime temperatures usually around 0°C, but in some cases, winter months can be quite colder with temperatures far below zero, about -20°C or lower with strong, cold northeasterly winds. In summer daytime temperatures reach 25-30°C, but sometimes quite higher, 35°C or more, especially in the inland areas.
Life of an International Student In Ukraine
There is no big difference between Students’ Lives in Ukraine and other European countries or the USA. International students study, meet new people, hang out, learn new things, and travel around Europe as any Ukrainian student does. Most students prefer campus living and some rent apartments. Campuses have all the facilities for a safe and comfortable stay: libraries, hospitals, gyms, conference and concert halls, laboratories and other training facilities, and security.
When it comes to the language, it is recommended that students start learning the Ukrainian Language after coming here, and by the end of the first month, they will be able to buy things from markets, greet people, and use public transport. The Ukrainian Language should be a compulsory subject in student’s life in Ukraine so they will be able to communicate with other people, and classmates, and develop their professional skills. Learning a language is not easy, but if you visit the Preparatory Department to take a Ukrainian Language course, the learning process will be fast and enjoyable.

Ukraine is a safe place for both native and international students alike. Safety measures have been put into place by the government for students during the whole period of staying here.
The number of international students in Ukraine has continually increased over the years. In 2011, there were 53,664 international students, in 2018 this number increased to 75,605. So there is no need to worry about integration or finding friends. The Academy student community is always friendly and acceptable, so you will never feel lonely here.
Sport Life
There are gyms and playgrounds in the territory of the dormitories and campuses in Ukraine. The most popular team sports among foreigners are football, volleyball, basketball, rugby, and cricket. Some students prefer tennis, badminton, and chess. If you are into sports, you can also find a lot of places to train in Kyiv city.
Sports culture in Ukraine is rapidly developing. Ukraine hosted the UEFA Euro 2012, surprising the guests with huge modern sports stadiums such as “Olimpiyskiy” in Kyiv, “Metallist” in Kharkiv, and “Arena Lviv” in Lviv.
