FACULTY OF PHARMACY

The main aim of the course of Pharmacy provided by the Academy is to perform educational activities aimed to implement the programs of higher professional education and train highly competent specialists. Pharmaceutical studies incorporate the study of chemical sciences in combination with the health sciences. The faculty courses are focused on the safe use and application of pharmaceutical drugs. Practical pharmacy covers contemporary health care roles and clinical services and medication review for more traditional services including dispensing and compounding.

Physiological sciences, human nutrition, pharmacology, professional practice, rural pharmacy, pharmaceutics, chemistry, microbiology, organic and medical agents, organic chemistry, therapeutics, and scientific statistics are the main subjects of the Pharmacy courses of the Academy. Students will improve their skills and knowledge in health promotion and develop health information management and communication skills during the courses.

Lectures are conducted using modern multimedia and computer equipment and lots of visual materials. Practical lessons on medical biology, microbiology, virology and immunology, histology, cytology, and embryology are performed using modern microscopes and other medical equipment. Classes on the anatomy and physiology of humans are performed using the synthetic models of organs, human skeleton, educational films, manuals, and workbooks. It lets optimize the mastery of the material by students and makes it possible for them to obtain basic knowledge faster by getting a visual experience.

The Evaluation of the degree:

  • Integrated test exam “STEP”
  • Objective structured  practical (clinical) exam (OSP)
  • International exam of the medicine basics
  • Professional English Exam. The English level of students’ is rated on the national scale (excellent, good, satisfactory, unsatisfactory; enrolled, uncredited); 200- point scale, and ECTS scale (A, B, C, D, E, FX, F)
